One of my favorite things is getting to play in the pit orchestras for musicals. I’ve been lucky to be able to do a few really great ones over the years and it’s always a lot of fun working on the shows with the casts.
It’s been a little while since I’ve been able to do one. I have to turn a lot of them down due to other calendar conflicts, etc. Bummer for me.
When I got the chance to play in the local production of Monty Python’s “Spamalot”, well I just cleared everything to do it.
Great comedy and fun music and Monty Python is one of my favorites! This thing has calls for 5 different guitars, a banjo, a ukelele and I even tuned a 15 course renaissance tenor lute (I’m not playing that!) I wanted to include a photo of my “rig” in the pit, but hey… it’s dark down there.
I can’t wait!
If you’re around the big city, come see this show!
DESCRIPTION:
Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.
