With Thanksgiving behind us, it’s full steam ahead for all things egg nog and candy canes. That includes a spirit-giving dose of holiday music. This week will be one of private holiday parties, year-end finals, recitals and one very special concert.
I’m very lucky to be able to play so many neat pieces close to my heart with so many neat people close to my heart. All are friends from my hometowns and many are students challenging themselves to take their music to the next level or just to share with family and friends.
Thursday – Downtown Noontime Concert Series at the First Presbyterian Church in St. Joe featuring vocalist, Shawn Minter. We’ll be playing a few christmas favorites and debuting some pieces from Shawn’s forthcoming solo record. It’s at noon!
Friday – Benedictine college students perform for their year end recitals and formal juries. O’Malley McAllister on the BC campus in Atchison, KS. It’s at noon!
Saturday – Our students will perform in the St. Joseph Music Teachers Association annual “Mall-a-thon” at the East Hills Mall in St. Joe. Guitarists perform at noon!
Later, we have a couple of private parties to entertain for as soloists and with the Trio.
Sunday – Pastor Wes Parker and I will be providing the background, features and musical interlude for another very special private party.
Now that should put us all in the spirit! Happy Christmastime.
