A steady courtship has evolved into a special relationship for our guy and one of the favorites in his cast of six-strung friends. Jason bought his first Godin as a back-up nylon string in 2003 and put it behind glass… “BREAK IN CASE OF EMERGENCY” The glass was soon shards with the instrument becoming JR’s ‘go-to’ nylon string electric both live and in-studio. The pioneering synth access, record-ability, play-ability, good looks and special sauce make the Godin Multiac the perfect pick (pun!) for our guy.

Thanks to Fred Disanto at Godin Guitars for coordinating with us in securing the next history-making addition to the family. She arrived just in time to join Jason Riley’s Funky Folk Tour and after just a few minutes getting to know her, we think she just might be the one. Here’s wishing you two a harmonious relationship and years of happiness.

Here’s a little of what JR has to say about his Godin Guitars
“People are amazed when I tell them a lot of the synths and percussion sounds on my Funky Folk album are made with a guitar. Godin guitars are our secret weapon in the studio.”

“I am lucky to work in a lot of different musical situations. My Godin guitar is flexible enough to go from a show with a high-volume rock band to a church service. You can be delicate or let it rip all with an inspiring, high-quality tone.”

“Wherever I play the Godin I talk to people who tell me how special my guitar sound is. They don’t always know how to say it or what it is exactly that perked their ears up. I know that they’re talking about the excellent quality of sound, presence and subtle blend of the nylon string with synthesized tones. They’ll often ask, ‘So.. what kind of guitar is that anyway?’. I tell them ‘THAT is a Godin Guitar!'”

“Impeccable Nylon String Tone Amplified!”

This Week in JR…

Thanks to the Sugita/Glise Duo for an inspiring run across the show-me-state. Always a lesson in staging and virtuosity. Let’s do it again soon!

We got a new guitar! (see above) Thank you Godin Guitars!

Soca J takes the stage at the Argosy Casino this weekend! Monte Carlo meets Marley in a head to dred battle of luck and destiny. That might be a slight exaggeration. Reggae is your fate!
