Jason Riley’s Funky Folk Tour – Spring 2011 KC to LA

Our guy takes to the highway this month to promote his most recent instrumental album release, Funky Folk. The tour will cover much of the U.S. western territories and will include stops in Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska and the guitarist’s home state of Missouri.

The voyage gives JR a chance to introduce his dynamic and diverse playing style, get personal with fans, work in some recording sessions, and plug the music on Funky Folk as well. Jason will join Las Vegas songwriter, collaborator and friend, Ed Daniels, en route and together the duo will participate in the ASCAP Music Expo in Hollywood.

The current production for this tour will showcase Riley’s solo work for nylon string guitar, loops and effects via music from his four solo records and fresh arrangements of select covers for voice and guitar. With an ‘off the cuff’ improvisational feel, his performances demonstrate the guitarist’s deep love for tradition and flexibility in styles as distinct as Classical, Rock, Country, Blues and Jazz.

Jason Riley’s Funky Folk Tour is presented by Godin Guitars, Wegen Picks, Dean Markley Strings, InnerThump Records and JasonRiley.com.

Meet Jason on tour in your hometown, pick up some free swag or get your album signed.

InnerThump Records declares “the instrumental versions of the family classics presented on FUNKY FOLK allow the listener to relate to these pieces in a purely musical way. Riley’s interpretations have updated and rejuvenated a collection of music that had been considered old-fashioned and neglected in today’s culture. FUNKY FOLK blends classic repertoire and modern sensibility in a way that’s sure enthrall kids, parents, friends, family and funky folk everywhere.”
