As a jam-oriented, spanglish-speaking guitarist steeped in the nylon-string, classical tradition and with an affinity for all things Texas and Guitar oriented, I’ve got my pale but passionate Irish blood moving for the upcoming show with Maria The Mexican and Austin, Tx based, Del Castillo.
The show will take place at Knucklehead’s KC this Friday, Sept. 14 (just a couple of days before Mexican Independence Day) and Maria and Co. will kick it off around 830pm.
Los Hermanos Del Castillo, Rick and Mark keep it in the family in a way that suggests Carlos Santana, The Gipsy Kings, Van Halen and the Smothers Bros. were all obligated to bring a side dish to Willie Nelson’s Family Picnic.
Great American band with a south of the border sound that has been featured appropriately in Film soundtracks, Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival and well… Willie Nelson’s Annual Fourth of July Picnic! The Red-headed stranger even recorded some of THEIR original music. Come on!
Here’s a link of Del Castillo jamming with Movie Mogul (and composer and guitar great), Robert Rodriquez. Me quiero!
