Maria The Mexican with The Kelley Hunt Blues Band

We did a really cool show recently.

Maria the Mexican was invited to perform a benefit concert for Just Food, the local food bank for Lawrence KC.

Headliner, Kelley Hunt is a true star and someone I had always wanted to meet. I’ve seen Kelley many times and have always loved her style and performances.

The event was organized by the Hunt camp, included her band and ours at Liberty Hall in Lawrence.

It was great fun to play a show there, to hear Kelley’s band up close and personal and to get to meet the Queen B herself.

Thanks for the picture, Kelley! And thank you for all the work to raise 1000’s of dollars for your communities under-fed. That’s hundreds of meals now available to them.
